Cost A cost estimate window will be communicated as part of the initial project proposal. Cost varies depending on the level of difficulty and the work required to complete the project to the highest quality. Other cost factors to consider would include potential dry cleaning or vintage restoration needs as well as potential material sourcing such as cotton linings, etc. All details will be communicated for client approval prior to project commencement.
Most jacket designs start at $650. Robes start at $600. Veils start at $200 and Converse at $135.
Cleaning & Restoration With your proposal, we may suggest a dry cleaning and/or restoration service if there are concerns about the condition of the item. Typically items that have been cleaned and preserved properly require minimal attention prior to our alterations. If a gown has yellowing or significant staining and you would like to have it cleaned and/or restored prior to redesign, the cost is $350- $450 and is performed via our professional partners at the Wedding Gown Preservation Company. It is our policy to send you their shipping kit and we will receive your item directly from Wedding Gown Preservation Company following their services. Timeline We develop a timeline on a per-project basis with typical lead times taking between 6-8 weeks to complete from the time we receive the item. Factors affecting the timeline of a project include: your timely shipping of the garment, possible cleaning and/or restoration needs, your timely design approval, any a-typical fabric or notions sourcing required, or any shipping delays from carriers.
Rush We will take on rush projects (anything due under a 6 week timeline) on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire for details and to discuss your particular needs. A rush fee will apply.
How much can I make from a garment? It will all depend on the piece and what you’re interested in making. A ball gown with several layers will offer much more material than an heirloom baby blanket. We have created multiple small items from wedding gowns including scrunchies, handkerchiefs, crop tops, and other items. Please inquire with your specific interests. What if my project needs extra material? No problem! We can source extra material to try and create what you are hoping for.
